Post Polio Network - Tasmania The Post Polio Network - Tasmania Inc was established in May 1998 when a need was seen for a state-wide polio network similar to those established in other states of Australia. The Network was established with the aim of providing relevant and accessible information, referral and support services to people who have had polio, their families, carers and advocates. |
Post Polio Network of Western Australia The Post Polio Network of WA Inc is a self help group of polio survivors formed to improve the ability of members to function as independently and with as few problems as possible as they reach a mature age. This is achieved by provision of information on polio's late effects to both survivors and health professionals, a free preliminary assessment clinic, and local research. |
Post Polio Support Queensland In 1991, a few people who had suffered polio and who were members of the Paraplegic and Quadriplegic Association of Qld (now called Spinal Injuries Association Qld Inc) identified the need for the formation of a support group. By that year information about people suffering new symptoms was starting to come to the fore. After an initial meeting support groups were formed throughout the state. There are active groups in Brisbane, Townsville and the Sunshine Coast. These groups genuinely enjoy the fellowship of their peers and gain support in sharing of information. The Support Groups continue to be an activity of Spinal Injuries Association Qld Inc. |
