Australian Taxation Office - People with disabilities, cars and the GST
You are eligible to purchase a car GST-free if you are an eligible disabled veterans who intends to use the car for your personal transportation for a period of two years or until you use the car to travel 40,000 kilometres from the date you purchase it; or eligible people with a disability who intends to use the car for your personal transportation to or from gainful employment for a period of two years or until you use the car to travel 40,000 kilometres from the date you purchase it.
Centrelink - Carer Allowance
Carer Allowance is a supplementary payment for carers who provide daily care and attention for adults with a disability, severe medical condition or who is frail aged at home. Carer Allowance may be paid on top of Carer Payment or other payments, such as Age Pension.
Centrelink - Carer Payment
Carer Payment is an income support payment for people who are unable to support themselves through participation in the workforce while caring for someone with a disability, severe medical condition or who is frail aged.
Centrelink - Disability Support Pension
The Disability Support Pension is a payment for people whose physical, intellectual or psychiatric impairment prevents them from working, or for people who are permanently blind.
Centrelink - Mobility Allowance
Mobility Allowance provides assistance to people with disabilities who are in paid employment, voluntary work, vocational training, undertaking independent living/life skills training or a combination of paid work and training and who are unable to use public transport without substantial assistance.
Department of Health & Ageing - Continence Aids Assistance Scheme
The Continence Aids Assistance Scheme (CAAS) is a Commonwealth program offering assistance to people who have permanent and ongoing incontinence as a result of a neurological condition or severe intellectual impairment. The aim of CAAS is to help eligible clients to meet the cost of continence aids. This site contains information and application forms.
