Anti-Discrimination Board of NSW
The Anti-Discrimination Board was set up under the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 to administer that Act. It is our role to promote anti-discrimination and equal opportunity principles and policies throughout NSW. We are part of the NSW Attorney General’s Department. We provide an enquiry service for people who want to know about their rights or responsibilities under anti-discrimination law. We also accept complaints of discrimination, investigate complaints and conciliate complaints when appropriate. We inform the people of New South Wales about their rights and responsibilities under anti-discrimination laws and explain how they can prevent and deal with discrimination.
NSW Health Care Complaints Commission
The NSW Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC) acts in the public interest by receiving, reviewing and investigating complaints about health care in NSW. The HCCC is an independent statutory body and is committed to ensuring that it acts fairly for all parties.
Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission
The Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission is a national independent statutory government body, established in 1986 by an Act of the federal Parliament, the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission Act. The federal Attorney General is the Minister responsible in Parliament for the Commission. Matters which can be investigated by the Commission include discrimination on the grounds of race, colour or ethnic origin , racial vilification , sex, sexual harassment, marital status, pregnancy, or disability. Human Rights education is one of the core responsibilities of the Commission along with the investigation and attempted resolution of complaints about breaches of human rights and anti-discrimination legislation.
National Disability Abuse and Neglect Hotline
The National Disability Abuse and Neglect Hotline is an Australia-wide telephone hotline for reporting abuse and neglect of people with disabilities using government funded services. Allegations are referred to the appropriate authority for investigation.
Complaints Resolution and Referral Service
The Complaints Resolution and Referral Service (CRRS) is a complaints resolution service for people using Australian Government-funded disability employment and advocacy services. The vision of the CRRS is to offer an innovative, independent, fair, efficient and impartial, nationally accessible complaints resolution and referral service for people accessing employment and advocacy services funded under the Commonwealth Disability Services Act.
